Sadie G. McClung, 99, went to be with her Lord on June 10, 2012. She was born in Jones County, TX, on February 6, 1913, to J.T. Wilkinson and Ila Harrison Wilkinson. On May 17, 1945, she married Ewell J. McClung in Abilene, TX. Sadie was a faithful member of Beeville First United Methodist Church. She was a “one of a kind” individual. She lived her entire 99 years with such a great sense of humor. Sadie was the Dallas Cowboy’s biggest fan and was just fun to be around. She considered her friends as family. You would have enjoyed spending time with her. She was known as one of the “Little Old ladies” of the Beeville First United Methodist Church. She was a longtime member of the UMW and served as an usher. She also folded the bulletins for many years. Even after she was no longer able to attend church, she continued to fold the bulletins from her home, up until a few months ago. She was such an inspiration to everyone. We were blessed to be a part of her life. Sadie was truly loved and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish her memories are her grandson Joseph Pittman and his wife Brenda of Tucker, GA. Three great grandchildren Neil, Angela, and William Pittman all of Baytown.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, from 5-7 pm at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate Sadie’s life were held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at 10:30 am at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Vivian Woods officiating. Interment followed at Beeville Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers were Joe Larakers, Gary Williams, Paul Cude, Tom Sowell, David Morgan and James Vasek.
