Mr. Salazar was born on May 17, 1920, in Beeville to Joventino and Seguna (Vasquez) Salazar. He was a retired oilfield worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, five brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Jesusa Aleman Salazar of Beeville; a step-daughter; Odelia Martinez of Kingsville; two step-sons, Ovilio (Mary Ann) Salinas of League City and Domingo (Ofelia) Salinas of Garland.
Visitation was held at Treviño Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Tuesday. A rosary was recited there at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Luke officiating. Burial followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Pallbearers were Henry Martinez, Roland Martinez, Leroy Salinas, Aaron Martinez, Rene Martinez and Andrew Martinez.
Honorary pallbearers were Desiree Martinez and Lillian Salinas.
