Thomas Jefferson Elementary School has scheduled Red Ribbon Week activities next week, Oct. 22-26.

Principal Jean Blankenship told parents, “Red Ribbon Week is an annual event to fight the war on drugs. Since this is a presidential election year, our theme is ‘I Elect to Be a Drug-Free Texan.’

“Part of our Red Ribbon Week at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School will include thematic dress days. We will also have activities and special announcements throughout the week.”

A schedule of the themes includes:

Monday, Oct. 22 – “Wear Red, White and Blue” Day – Be patriotic by wearing red, white and blue clothing

Tuesday, Oct. 23 – “Sock It to Drugs” Day – wear crazy, colorful socks

Wednesday, Oct. 24 – “Don’t Let Drugs Turn You Inside Out” Day – wear clothes inside out

Thursday, Oct. 25 – “I CAN, You CAN, We CAN Be Drug Free” Day – bring a can of healthy food to donate to The Vineyard, our local food pantry

Friday, Oct. 26 – “Bee Spirited – Bee Drug Free” Day – Show school spirit and respect for our community by wearing Beeville Trojan gear

“We look forward to your participation in the Red Ribbon Week activities. Remember, respect yourself, respect your health and be drug free,” Blankenship said.
