REFUGIO — Activity continues at the club every Tuesday and Thursday nights. On Tuesday nights, we have a Hold ’Em tournament. On Thursday night we have just game night. Play is open to the public and starts at 6 p.m. each night. Come on out and play.

KLIPS has been out of pocket for quite a while but we hope to re-establish the column again in the future.

The weather has been pretty bad the last week or so and, as a result, not much work has been done on the course. We hope for some good weather soon so we can get back to work. The course is in pretty decent shape. The greens are dormant but we keep them cut down, so they putt pretty well.

We have had a few Winter Texans come and play golf but now that Christmas is over, we hope to have a larger number come and play. They are important to us economically, and we do need them. Hopefully, they will come.

We are sad to report that our pet dog, “Buster,” has been missing since last Thursday. Buster has been with us for 3-4 years ever since someone dropped him off here when he was just a puppy. We don’t know if he just took off (something he has never done) or if someone picked him up.

For those of you in the public, he is white with brown spots. He stands about 12 inches high and is about 24 inches long and looks a bit like a big Jack Russell terrier.

He is very friendly and has a habit of sitting up and begging. He also has a flea collar around his neck. If you have seen him running around, call the club or Carl Barnhart at 526-2863.

Did you know that a recent survey shows that of all jobs, caddies live the longest? They get plenty of fresh air and exercise, and if there’s ever a medical emergency, a doctor is always nearby.
