The Texas Mile is returning to Goliad Oct. 16 through 18 at the Goliad Industrial Air Park.

The annual event is open to the public. While drivers arrive early, the racing is 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Oct. 16 and 17, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 17.

Admission is $10 per person or $5 per person with proof of Goliad County residency.

How to get there from Beeville: At Beeville, stay on U.S. 59 (also known as Corpus Christi Street). Travel about 13-14 miles toward Berclair. At Berclair, turn left on FM 883. Travel about 5-6 miles to FM 1351. Turn right. Travel about 2-3 miles. Be looking for Goliad Airport or Goliad Airpark signs. Turn left into facility onto Airpark Road. Travel through the red gate.

The Texas Mile is not a race. Drivers have a one-mile stretch to reach their fastest speed possible within that distance.
