To many a common rodent.
To the rest, a ’90s icon.
Pauly Shore, aka The Weasel, made his way, for many, through our television sets on MTV’s hit show “Totally Pauly” and theater screens in comedy films such as “Encino Man,” “Bio-Dome” and “Son In Law”... much to our parents’ dismay.
Shore not only paved the way for such MTV hits as “Beavis & Butthead” and the now infamous “Jersey Shore,” but the first Shore was totally Pauly’s.
Making a name for himself as a whacked out, chill dude, he gave Americans a reason to just “Chill, bud-dy” and never stop “weezing the ju-uice!”.
Now The Weasel has arrived. And he’s beached on the Gulf.
Starting March 29 through March 31 at The Vent Comedy Club, located inside Gators, 4610 SPID in Corpus Christi, Shore will be headlining a stand-up comedy spectacle with the likes of Sandy Danto (MadTV) and Danny Vermont (writer Lopez Tonight).
While most fans know him as a film star, his stand-up has received huge amounts of acclaim.
Shore’s first comedy album, “The Future of America,” was named Best Comedy Album by the College Music Journalists and his second album, “Scraps from the Future,” earned a Best Comedy Album nomination from The National Association of Record Merchandisers.
Shore hasn’t been invisible to the public eye in the subsequent years since his TV and box office reign (amassing over hundreds of millions of dollars in the ’90s). He’s since written, directed and starred in more than five films and produced a TBS reality show starring himself and the iconic L.A. comedy club, “The Comedy Store,” which his mother owns.
While producing and directing takes up most of his talent to date, he still holds true to his roots of stand-up comedy, making “shore” his fans never forget why we all laugh in the first place.
