Winners announced for ‘Field of Dreams’ golf tournament

Results have been announced for the first Blackie Adamez “Field of Dreams” Memorial Golf Tournament. The event was held Aug. 21 at the John C. Beasley Municipal Golf Course.

The winning foursome in the scramble event included Sam Workman, John Roensch, Jimmy Gauna and Jonathan Juleg. The foursome carded a 49.8 under the Fisher Factor Handicap system to capture the top spot.

Second place went to the team of David Moreno, Ricky Mendez, Raul Casarez and Audrey Barrientes, who scored a 50.75 for their 18 holes.

Third place was awarded to Robert Salas, Vidal Salas, Jay Arredondo and Mike Dougherty, who came in with a 53.8

The longest drive of the day went to Pam Aguilar, while the longest putt award was won by Ronald Massquerro. The closest to the pin contest was won by Daniel Lugo.

Proceeds from the event will be used to provide scholarships to the area’s youth.
