The Live Oak Duplicate Bridge Club Christmas party was held on Friday, Dec. 19, at the Nueces St. Restaurant in George West with 28 players, who were from San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Kingsville, Campbellton, Floresville, Karnes City, Kenedy, Beeville, Orange Grove, Three Rivers and George West.

Overall winners for the all-day event were Roxana Tom and Katherine Ann Gary, first place; Walter Long and Sara Dunn, second; Anne Hinton and Roxana Tom, third; and Dorthy Rippstein and Verline Luthringer, fourth.

Dorthy Rippstein served as director and Anne Hinton, club manager, made the arrangements for the day.

Morning winners were North/South — Long and Dunn, first; Hinton and Tom, second; Diane Drake and Pat Vineyard, third; Jean Freeborn and Norma Williams, fourth. East/West — Rippstein and Luthringer, first; Gary and Tom, second; Elaine Bennett and Mary Johnson, thrid; Jo Ann Jonas and Dottie Castleberry, fourth.

Afternoon winners were North/South — Hinton and Tom, first; Freeborn and Williams, second; Drake and Vineyard, third; Bennett and Glynda Matthews, fourth. East/West — Gary and Tom, first; Long and Dunn, second; Mary Tryer and Bob Gerberich, third; Steve Kassarjian and Beula Mae Pearce, fourth.
