First of all let me begin with this story could not be further from the truth and if this story is written based on DPS trooper statements, then clearly the DPS troopers misheard eyewitness accounts.....This is the actual story.....There were approximately 5 vehicles traveling on 72 toward Three Rivers, My husband and myself as well as my daughter were ahead of the vehicle that wrecked however my son was directly in front of that vehicle, with another vehicle in front of him (my son). There were NO 18 wheelers near any of us at the time!!!!!!! For reasons not known at the time the wrecked vehicle veered into oncoming traffic and hit the Company truck....We were the first responders and made the first 911 call aproximately at 5:50, please note that it took aproximately 30 mins for the first DPS trooper to arrive and another 5-10 mins for the first ambulance to arrive!!!! During this time my husband aided to keep the driver from going into shock wile my son and several other men tried to free him using personal tools to remove the doors!! After the jaws of life finally showed up (about an hour after the accident)he stated that he had just received the call to come!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Hwy 72 is an awfull mess due to the amount of traffic and needs to be repaired immediately!! The response time of Police and medical teams was appalling and not to mention the lack of sense of urgency...One would think that due to the high numbers of wrecks that are happening everyone would be on their game!!

Now Let me start on the 18 wheelers that came through there!!!NO RESPECT!! You have a man pinned in a car and 18 wheelers are trying to drive through there just to "dump thier loads", I even asked one for a fire extenguisher and he drove off!! WHAT A CRYING SHAME!! Are there not any morals in people these days!!

The man in the car was airlifed to a hospital but DID NOT have abdominal injuries, he has a broken arm and a broken hip!!! And yes I know because we have visited his wife in the hospital!!

I do not know the men that aided my husband and son trying to free this man but I would just like to thank all of them for their tremendous work they did!! If it weren't for them I do believe this story would have been much worse!!! There are SOME great people still out there!! The surrounding counties should really regroup and retrain their emergency response teams!! They honestly looked like fish out of water and did not know what they were doing!!
