The third in a series of midweek Advent services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Ander.

The midweek Advent services, entitled “Prepare the Royal Highway,” are sponsored jointly by St. Peter’s, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Schroeder, and Zion Lutheran Church in Arneckeville.

Supper will be available beginning at 6:30 p.m., with the service at 7:30 p.m. St. Peter’s is located at 1545 FM 1961 in Ander. Members of the community are invited to attend.

The offering received at the Advent services will be divided equally between the World Hunger Appeal of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent. The gift to the food bank will be designated for use by CAMAL House in Cuero, the Goliad Outreach Food Pantry, and the food pantry of Fannin United Methodist Church. The Greater Victoria Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is providing a $400 matching grant for the offering received at the three services.
