Goliad senior Meghan Truax poses with her bronze medal she won Saturday at the state powerlifting meet in Corpus Christi.
Truax had a 315-pound squat, 145-pound bench and 340-pound deadlift for an 800-pound composite.
Grape Creek’s Danelle Baughman won the event with a composite of 865 and Hawley’s Kandice Lopez was second with an 810.
Dilley’s Jubilee Flores was fourth with a combined lift of 765.
Goliad junior Austin Speed will compete in the 275-pound division of the Texas High School Powerlifting Association Class 1A-2A state meet Friday and Saturday in Abilene.
