Local Cub Scouts receive ‘Arrow of Light’ honor at Jan. 10 meeting

The Cub Scouts receiving the Arrow of Light were Jackson Bochat, Joshua Hernandez, Kadin Pinson, Nicholas Pompa, John Cowan, Justin Swize, Kristopher Shockley, and James Yarbourgh.  In addition, three Cub Scouts earned the Super Achiever Award, earning all 20 achievements in Webelos. They are Jackson Bochat, Nicholas Pompa and Justin Swize. Others are continuing to work to receive this award.

Eight members of Pack 64 in Goliad received the highest honor available to Cub Scouts - the Arrow of Light on Jan. 10

To earn the Arrow of Light, each boy had to be active in scouts since completing the fourth grade, show knowledge of the requirements to become a Boy Scout, earn five more achievements in addition to those earned to receive Webelo, attend a Boy Scout campout and meeting, and attend a Cub Scout campout.

The Cub Scouts camped with Boy Scout Troop 60 and had a campout at the Goliad State Park, where they retired 24 American and Texas flags. They earned achievements in scientist, family member, engineer, handyman, naturist, citizenship, fitness, readyman and several others.
