“They’re still trying to come up with a design that meets everybody’s needs and meets the future needs of the district,” said Superintendent Tylor Chaplin. “Right now, we’re just talking about the conceptual ideas. We’re not down to the final blueprint just yet; it’s just conceptual ideas.”
Conceptual ideas include aspects of possible location and designs for the new gyms, band hall, fine arts department, agriculture department, etc., along with what the exterior of the campus would look like.
Committee members have been in close consultation with Fort Worth-based architecture firm Huckabee and Associates, regarding issues of building design and construction.
Chaplin said no plans have been finalized and that the committee has been holding community meetings in recent weeks to educate the community on various aspects of the plans and the tax impact and costs.
The next public community meeting of the design committee is set for April 23 at 6 p.m. at the diner of Falls City Catholic Church.
