J.T. was born Feb. 22, 1941, in Kenedy, to John Hollis Grubbs and Velma Hazel Moore.
Survivors include his daughter, Elaine Montgomery; his son, Donny Grubbs and his sisters, Shirley Costilow of Kenedy, Janie Graham and Marie Lawless, both of San Antonio.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Sandy Grubbs.
A memorial grave side service was held Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Kenedy Cemetery, Kenedy, with Malcolm Gulley officiating.
