2012 Direct and Counter Cyclical Program (DCP) signup is underway. Do not delay. Now is the time to make your annual enrollment in the Direct and Counter Cyclical Program (DCP). DCP is available for those farms with established base acres as calculated on the planting history for contract commodities (i.e. wheat, oats, corn, sorghum, cotton, etc.) from 1991-1995. These base acres were established with the 1996 farm bill and provide support payments for those base acres. Eligibility requirements include making a complete acreage report, controlling weeds, and controlling erosion. Eligible producers shares must be commensurate and at risk with their claimed significant contributions of land, capital, equipment, labor, and management.

DCP Sign up ends June 1, 2012. Call to schedule an appointment. Do not miss this date.

June 15: Final acreage reporting date for all other crop and land uses (except small grains) including grain sorghum, forage sorghum, corn, cotton, native and improved grasses for grazing or forage, and Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). (The final reporting date for small grains ended May 1. Late file fees now apply.)
