The 36th Annual Bluebonnet Days Festival sure was a fun for all. Bringing the event back to Downtown Kenedy this year was a huge success. Thanks to everyone who participated in the parade. Our top award winners are as follows: Mayor’s Choice, Tameria’s Hair Studio; Best Overall, Cuero Turkeyfest; 1st place in town chamber, city, organization, business float, Tractor City; 1st place out of town chamber, city, organization, business float, Gillespie County Fair & Festival Assn.; 1st place youth, Kenedy Maroon; 1st place decorated float, Yoakum Area Chamber of Commerce; 1st place horse & wagons/mounted groups, Karnes County Historical Society and 1st place best band, Kenedy High School Band. This year we brought back the car and motorcycle show to the event. There were some really great looking cars and motorcycles that participated. The cook-off went well. Our judges tasted some great barbecue from all of the teams that entered. Congratulations to Bobby Saenz with team Bob-B-Que who won the Triple Heat Bragging Rights and to all of the Jackpot winners as well. Special thanks to the City of Kenedy, Kenedy Police Department, Alexander Auto, Almas Perdidas Bike Club, Steve Sellers and our Bronze Sponsors: Ashland Specialty Ingredients, Capital Farm Credit, The UPS Store and Oppenheimer & Co.; Silver Sponsors: Hope & Causey P.C. and Anytime Fitness; Gold Sponsors: Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital and Gold Plus Sponsors: Diamond M Ranch, Pioneer Natural Resources, AEP Texas and Wood Group Duval. We couldn’t have made this event such a success without the help of each and every person/business that helped. Until next year…

Director ballots have been mailed out to each of our members. There are only two spots to fill. Also, please mark your Citizen of the Year nomination on your envelope. Please have them turned in by May 19. Don’t forget to vote.
