The 2013-2014 school year has come and gone. Last week, the Kenedy High School hosted Scholarship Night and we proudly handed out the Kenedy Chamber of Commerce Tourism & Visitor Center Scholarship to the following recipients: Parth Patel: $1000; Emily Richter: $1000; Teryn Schmidt: $1000; Priscilla Torres: $500; Hannah Leal: $500; Laurel Vickery: $500 and Graham Lawrence: $500. The senior contestants that placed in the Miss Bluebonnet Days Pageant were also awarded their scholarships: $750 to the 2013 1st Runner Up, Priscilla Torres and $500 to the 2013 2nd Runner Up, Teryn Schmidt. The Kenedy Chamber of Commerce would like to congratulate all of the Karnes County Graduates and we wish them the best of luck with their future endeavors.

The Microtel Inn & Suites hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, May 8 in celebration of their Grand Opening in Kenedy. They are located at 333 N. Sunset Strip. We are very appreciative to have them as a member and we wish them nothing but success in Kenedy.

Save the date for the Annual Kenedy Chamber of Commerce Banquet. The event will be held on Friday, June 20 at the Kenedy City Hall. Stay tuned more details to come.
