Robert A. “Butch” Lockstedt, 71, of Karnes City, died Friday, March 7, 2014.

Mr. Lockstedt was born Feb. 7, 1943, in Houston to Otto and Alice Cobb Lockstedt. He served on a meteorological team in the U.S. Army in Washington State and Alaska. He supported the Houston Stock Show and Rodeo and served on the Rodeo Calf Scramble Committee for a number of years. He and Marjorie Kirkpatrick were married on May 27, 1978, in Karnes City. He retired from the Karnes City ISD and had previously retired from the Harris County Flood Control District where he was a lineman in Houston.

Survivors include his mother, Alice Kindred of Kerrville; sister, Delores Gilchrist of Rocksprings; brother, Michael Browning of Humble; son, Paul Allen (Laura) Lockstedt of Spring; grandson, Jeremy Lockstedt of Spring; niece, Carrie Nix, nephew, Winston Sellers; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and his wife, Margie.

Visitation was held at Rhodes Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 11, with a graveside service following at 1 p.m. at the Karnes City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Frank Miller, Ronnie Solis, Paul Lockstedt, Jason Browning, Winston Sellers and Michael Browning.
