St. Paul Lutheran Church, Runge: Too good to be true

Oftentimes we are faced with situations that just seem to be too good to be true. The disciples just couldn't comprehend that Jesus actually had risen from the dead and was back among them walking with them on the road to Emmaus. Luther wrote," All Scripture and the Word of God point to the suffering of Christ, as He Himself declares in the last chapter of Luke that Scripture contains nothing else than the promised grace and forgiveness of sin through the suffering of Christ, that whoever believes in Him, and none other, shall be saved." This good news is for all of us. The promises of the Gospel are God's promises. Our congregation of sinners have received mercy from God, we know we are blessed, we have an advocate in heaven. He empowers us to be his body for the sake of the world. Too good to be true, you have God's word on it.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Runge meets at 8:30 a.m. Sunday mornings for worship and 9:45 a.m. for Adult Bible Study and Sunday School. All are welcome to worship the Risen Lord with us. We will welcome Pastor Randy Bruno as our permanent pastor on May 6.
