Do not be timid; do not be scared; engage the world. When Jesus was leaving this world, Jesus prayed for his disciples including those of who follow him today. He prayed that God would keep his chosen believers safe from Satan's power, setting them apart and making them pure and holy, uniting them through his truth. Believers have a job to do right here in the world even though the world seems to be going further away from the Bible. One must engage the world and not be timid and afraid to voice their faith. Jesus covered humans in prayer and cares about them. One is to share the joy of knowing and believing that Jesus is the Lord and Savior with others who are lost in this worldly world. Quoting verse 11 of the gospel lesson from John 17:1-11, "And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one". Jesus was asking that the disciples be united in harmony and love as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are united. Jesus wanted his disciples unified as a powerful witness to the reality of God's love. Knowing that Jesus prayed for humans should give them confidence as they work for his kingdom.

Everyone is invited to join the congregation of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Runge for Sunday morning worship services at 8:30 a.m. followed by fellowship, Sunday school, and adult Bible study. Children, mark your calendars for July 21-25 for "Weird Animals" vacation Bible school. It is going to be awesome. Pastor Randal Bruno is the minister.
