The 2010 Census is a process conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau every 10 years. Every household in the United States of America will have a questionnaire mailed or delivered to them in February or March 2010. The questionnaire will take less than 10 minutes to complete. The census is required by law. This requirement was added to the U.S. Constitution in 1787.

The census is important because the results benefit our community and our state. Every year the federal government allocates more than $300 billion for things like Title 1 allocations, college grants and loan programs, public transportation, road and community improvements, public health services and hospitals, neighborhood improvements and senior services.

If the 2010 Census Bureau does not receive your questionnaire by April 2010, they will send a representative to your household to request it.

Remember, it only takes about 10 minutes to complete the questionnaire. Our state is depending on you.
