ARRL Field Day is the largest on-the-air operating event in amateur radio. It draws tens of thousands to the airwaves each year, bringing new and experienced hams together for a weekend of fun.
Radios will be active for all to use and learn about.
Amateurs can learn how to help with emergency communications during a disaster and just have fun talking all over the world via amateur radios.
The field day will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday and continue until nobody is there.
Everyone is invited to come have some fun making new friends around the world by talking on amateur radios. Use the radios yourself. Ham operators will be on hand to show how to use it. Get information on how to use radios during a storm to help others and to get information on what is going on in your own town during bad times.
Local ham radio operator Fred Rugar can be contacted by e-mail at ke5htb@gmail.com.
