Mrs. LaRose was born Jan. 27, 1941, in Grapeland to Charles R. and Grace Mayfield Stewart. She married Louis H. LaRose III in Sandia on Aug. 27, 1977, and was a retired bookkeeper. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Faith Evening Circle. She was queen of the Scarlet O’Hatters and was a talented seamstress and cook.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles R. Stewart.
Survivors include her husband, Louis H. LaRose III of Beeville; her mother, Grace Stewart of Beeville; two daughters, Ressa (Jay) Kelley of Swinney Switch and Sharon (Terry) Peterson of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Athena Harms, T.J. Kelley, Alyssa Kelley, Cara Riek and Amy Morena; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Monday, July 22, at 10 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church.
The funeral service was conducted there at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gary Conklin and Rev. Don Taylor officiating. Musical selections included “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art” and “Lean On Me” and were provided by organist Pat Coffee and vocalist Jim Stevenson and the Crossways praise band. Burial was at the Sons of Hermann Cemetery in Orange Grove.
Pallbearers were Jerry Brzozowski, Carroll Lohse, Jay Kelley, T.J. Kelley, Freddie Schauer, Doug Bolland and Joe Linnsteadter.
Honorary pallbearers were the Scarlet O’Hatters.
