Archeologist to discuss 1790s ranch in Bayside

The Bayside Historical Society will welcome archeologist James Warren to discuss Fort Ramirez: Archeological Investigation at an Early Spanish Ranch in South Texas at its meeting at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7 at the Bayside Community Center. The public is welcome.

James Warren will speak on Fort Ramirez: Archeological Investigation at a 1790s Spanish Ranch in South Texas at the Bayside Historical Society meeting Saturday, Aug. 7, at 2 p.m. in the Bayside Community Center.

Warren of George West is an archeologist with extensive excavation experience in South Texas. The early ranch of Fort Ramirez dates back to the 1790s. He also is experienced with the Mission in Refugio.

Warren will bring artifacts to the meeting to pass around for all to see.

The meeting at the Bayside Community Center, 909 First Street, is open to the public and will be followed by refreshments.
