Astron Club’s ‘Taste of Goliad’ set for Jan. 31

GOLIAD – The Goliad Astron Club will hold its annual “Taste of Goliad” event Friday, Jan. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Goliad Memorial Auditorium.

Prepared dishes will be available to taste and come back for more.

Area restaurants and caterers have taken advantage of the event to bring samples of their best dishes to be tasted.

Owners of area restaurants, bakers and caterers can get entry forms by contacting Darlene Montague at 361-645-8666 or Barbara Smith at 361-645-5146.

There is no charge to enter food in the event, which benefits the Golden Crescent Habitat for Humanity-Goliad, Goliad County Library, Goliad High School Technology and Engineering Club, Goliad County Senior Citizens Center and Goliad ISD Education Foundation. Tickets are available from any Astron Club member for the advance purchase price of $12 for adults and $5 for children 10 and younger.
