BCA kicks off concert season Sept. 25

BEEVILLE – From the Beeville Community Chorus to Fiesta Bee County’s Ballet Folklórico, the Beeville Concert Association’s opening concert for the 2011-12 season features some of Beeville’s most talented musicians, both young and experienced, with selections which will appeal to a wide variety of musical tastes.

The concert is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 25, at 3 p.m. at the Coastal Bend College Gertrude R. Jones Performing Arts Auditorium.

Other performers for the first concert include vocal soloists Sally Friedlander, Dr. Nancy Jones, John Schulz and Donna Davis; duo Leah and Phillip Brewer; cellist Sarah Milnarich; and violinist Lindsey Ray. Dr. Jim Lee will accompany the soloists.

The rest of the BCA’s season includes the following:

The Flying Balalaika Brothers on Oct. 9; Mariachi Campanas de América, Oct. 23; Circa Paleo, Feb. 21, 2012; The San Antonio Symphony Orchestra, Feb. 21; organist Su-Ryeon Ji, March 4; and Kathy and James Taylor, dance duo, March 23.

Season memberships are $40 for adults, with all children through high school age admitted free. CBC students are admitted with their student ID’s through CBC sponsorship. Single tickets at the door are $10 for adults. Season tickets may be purchased at the Sept. 25 concert, from a BCA volunteer or by mailing a check to the BCA, P.O Box 1511, Beeville, 78104. Members who purchase their tickets before the first concert may pick them up at the door on Sept. 25.
