Beavers go 3-2 at George West tourney

The Beavers defeated the Commanches 67-38 with the scoring of Wiatrek and two other juniors Dean Gaskamp, 15 points, and Stephen Harlos, 13 points.  The Beavers will start District play on Friday, Jan. 11, against Yorktown in Falls City  at 7:30 pm.

The Falls City Beavers varsity basketball team won three games and lost two in the recent George West basketball tournament.

The two wins were over district opponents.

Dilley 74, Falls City 48

Falls City 57, George West 55

Floresville JV 53, Falls City 31

Falls City 42, Pettus 39

Stephen Harlos was voted to the All-Tournament team at the George West tournament.

“I’m extremely proud of the way the boys have transitioned into basketball season and the dedication they have displayed to learning a new system under a new coach,” said Coach Joshua Wadsworth. “While we are constantly improving, we are struggling to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Hopefully we will continue to improve fundamentally so we can convert potential into realization.”

In other recent competition, the Beavers lost to Devine by a score of 87-46.
