The sheriff’s department responded to 47 calls; the Refugio Police Department, 34; state troopers 15; Woodsboro Marshal, three; medics, 38; animal control, eight; Refugio VFD, three; Woodsboro VFD, one; Tivoli VFD, three; Austwell VFD, two; Bayside VFD, one.
One male subject was arrested March 22 at 5:49 p.m. for the possession of marijuana. Trooper Carl Currie initiated the traffic stop north of Refugio. The subject consented to a vehicle search and the marijuana was found. Trooper Currie took the subject into custody and transported him to Refugio County Jail.
One female was taken by helicopter transport after a motorcycle crash on March 23 at 12:42 p.m. The female wrecked her motorcycle on Gin Road about one mile south of the gin. Dispatch advised Deputy Ronald Ramirez and Sgt. Glen Grasham. The female possible had some broken ribs, but was conscious when help arrived.
A male subject was taken to Refugio County Jail on March 24 at 1:37 a.m. for DUI. The subject left the fairgrounds and almost hit a pole. Dispatch advised Officer Jamie O’Reilly and he initiated a traffic stop on Houston street. Officer O’Reilly requested another officer, Deputy Jeff Raymond, and advised to show the subject in custody. Officer O’Reilly transported him to Refugio County Jail.
One male was taken to Refugio Memorial Hospital on March 24 at 11:50 a.m. after a car accident on Hwy. 202. The accident was about eight miles out of Refugio. The vehicle was overturned on the westbound side. Trooper Tim Gage responded to the accident. The male subject was helped out of his vehicle and taken to the hospital. A wrecker was advised for the vehicle.
Two male subjects were arrested March 25 at 6:30 p.m. for possession of marijuana. DPS Trooper Ryan Chambers initiated the traffic stop on Hwy. 77. DPS Trooper Kent Williams transported the two subjects to Refugio Memorial Hospital, the vehicle was released to the wrecker and then the subjects were taken to Refugio County Jail.
An incident case number was requested for an assault that occurred on March 25 at 7:03 p.m. A female caller reported that her boyfriend was assaulted by another male subject at the school in Tivoli. Deputy Phillip Ruiz was dispatched to the call. He received a statement from one of the subjects, and left a statement form at the other subject’s residence. A case number was requested for the assault.
