WOODSBORO – Eight decorated bras are in the first-ever Bra-Mania Contest to raise money toward breast cancer research.

The bras were on display at the First National Bank of Woodsboro last week and are in the bank’s Refugio branch this week.

Ten-dollar entry fees for the contest garnered $80 at the outset. Each vote for your favorite bra is $1. Drop by the bank to vote.

Viola Meza, Zumba instructor at Back to Basics Gym, and one of the organizers of the fundraiser, said money from the effort will be given to Relay For Life.

The bras also will be on display at the Refugio County Health Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the hospital. You may vote during this time, too.

Meza said a Zumba-thon and a Crossfit workout at the Back to Basics Gym in Woodsboro also is being planned to raise money. For more information on the fundraisers, phone 543-0695.
