Robert Rincon cuts rebar that will be used to support a large concrete footing for a compactor machine that will be installed at the city equipment yard on South Jackson Street. Below, J.T. Amador and Roland Espinoza put the finishing touches on the ground inside the form where the footing will be poured later. The compactor will help the city compress items discarded at the citizens collection station at the yard before it is hauled off to either the Allied Waste recycling yard or the company’s sanitary landfill in Corpus Christi. City employees assisting the men Tuesday were Joe Garcia and Ted Garcia.
