REFUGIO — The commissioners court lifted the burn ban for an indefinite period of time. The court will revisit the prohibition on outdoor burning when conditions worsen.

During Tuesday morning’s meeting Chief Deputy Sheldon Wiginton said that drought conditions continue to prevail; however, the county has not reached the critical stage.

The central part of the county has received less rain, according to Wiginton. The recent showers did little to improve overall conditions.
