BEEVILLE – CPL Retail Energy honored the Boys and Girls Club of Beeville as a recipient of the 2013 Reduce Your Use For Good grant on Monday, Nov. 11. The organization received $2,500 to upgrade appliances, service equipment or purchase energy-efficient products.

The Reduce Your Use For Good grant aims to lower the electricity costs of nonprofits, so more money stays where it belongs — helping the people in the community that need assistance the most. The Boys and Girls Club will use the funds to replace much of its air conditioning system.

The $2,500 is part of $125,000 that CPL Retail Energy and its corporate partners awarded to nonprofits throughout the state, to save on electricity costs. This year, Reduce Your Use For Good officials added a surprise $25,000 to the program to fund an additional 10 nonprofits.
