"The Karnes City ISD Education Foundation Board Members thoughts and prayers are very much with John Wayne Schulz's Mother, Vicky and her family as she battles breast cancer and is in frail health at this time," a spokesperson for the group said. "We are grateful that John Wayne is where he needs to be and that is with his Mom and family. We are thankful that another of our hometown favorites, Sean O’Brien has graciously accepted to perform for him at our Gala this Saturday."
At the Gala, there will be a celebration of schools, teachers and friends of the district with heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and an exciting silent auction from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Tickets are tax-deductible and are $25 per person. They can be purchased in advance at the school district’s administrative office at 314 N. Hwy 123, from a foundation board member, or at the door, as long as space allows.
There will be an exciting silent auction in the works: IPad 2, Yeti Ice Chest, Kindle, Golf, Home Décor, Fredericksburg Quilt, Jewelry and much more.
Organizers are inviting all to support the event benefiting the youth of Karnes City schools.
The general public is welcome and the event will open up the fun for all at 9 p.m. with ticket sales at the door, if space allows.
The Karnes City ISD Education Foundation, established earlier this year, is comprised of business and community leaders who have a connection to Karnes City ISD and a common desire for promoting its excellence in education.
Proceeds from the Gala and Dance will help fund innovative instructional grants for teachers and a Student Academic Achievement Banquet in the spring that will showcase students’ academic achievements and the specific educators that have impacted each of them.
Anyone who is interested in participating or has any questions, is encouraged to contact Jennifer Ebrom by phone: 830-583-5748 or email: jmebrom@gmail.com or visit www.kcisdfoundation.org
