City of GW pleased with outcome of Cinco de Mayo festivities

On behalf of the City of George West, we would like to thank everyone who came out and supported our Cinco de Mayo cook off celebration. We had a good time, enjoyed some excellent entertainment and great food. The City would like to thank our event sponsors, Best Western - George West, Valero Refinery - Three Rivers, LNV Engineers, Republic Services, Offshore Energe Services - George West, One Stop Food Stores, Budweiser L & F Distrubutors, George West Volunteer Fire Department, Kicker 101 and EmbroidMe.

A special thank you to all our entertainment, cook off teams and Little Mister and Miss Cinco de Mayo contestants and their families.

Thank you to the Steak Dinner Cooks, Richard Lee, Brady Lee, David Liska, Albert Perez, Randy Kopplin and Big Lou’s Cookin Team.

Thank you to Cook-Off Head and Assistant Judges, Roberta Perez and Erica Salinas. Thank you to the volunteers of the event: Ena Pena, Mackey Alvarez, Melany Smith, Maria Villarreal, Susie Villarreal, Mary Lou Mosqueda, Jr. Ferrell, Ida Lopez and the Boys and Girls Club, Ron Lopez, Lyssy & Eckel Feed, Chief Garcia and the GW Police Department, Ruben Pena and the GW Public Works Department, Jackie Harborth and Judge Patricia Lanford ond the City Hall Staff, George West Spanish Club, Dale’s Electric, Mayor Sylvia Steel and Councilmen Lopez, Salinas and Pawelek.
