GOLIAD – City officials haven’t heard back from the Texas Rangers after investigators came to Goliad on Feb. 3 to find information concerning the possible misuse of funds and irregular lending practices by the Goliad Municipal Development District.

City Administrator Larry Zermeno said Monday the Rangers spoke to him and City Secretary Pam Long.

Zermeno said the Rangers also wanted to speak with city financial assistant Brenda Moses, but she was out of the office that.

Zermeno said the Rangers said they would return the net day to talk with Moses, but never showed up.

The investigation was sent to the Rangers from District Attorney Michael Sheppard’s office. Sheppard was unavailable for comment Monday.
