The annual Community Thanksgiving service for the George West area will be Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. This year Reverend John Diaz and the St. Paul Lutheran Church will host the gathering. The church is located at 711 Houston Street in George West.

Each year, area pastors come together to plan the community service. Along with their churches, they provide music, preaching or worship site. This year, it is a pleasure to have the new United Methodist Church Pastor Emet Huntsman bringing the message.  Other churches involved at this point are First Baptist Church, St. George Catholic Church and the Brush Country Cowboy Church. Those new to the area are also invited to join. Everyone is welcome. Worshipping and giving thanks to our Lord together will bless us all. Following this Thanksgiving service, there will be a time of fellowship and refreshments in the Lutheran Church fellowship hall.
