BEEVILLE — Police officers are looking for suspects in an early morning “smash and grab” burglary at the Radio Shack, 610 E. Houston St.

Sgt. Jason Alvarez was called to the scene shortly after the 1:45 a.m. incident Sunday to find that someone had broken out a window.

Then the burglar (or burglars) ran inside the store, broke the glass out of a display case and grabbed as many cellular phones as possible before fleeing the scene.

Police Chief Joe Treviño asked that anyone who might have information that could lead to an arrest in the case contact the Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers organization.

If the information leads to an arrest, the person providing the tip could qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.

Anyone who would like to help crack the case should call 362-0206 or call toll-free to (877)362-0206.

Internet users may contact Crime Stoppers by email at

Treviño said Detective Matthew Miller is investigating the incident.

Witnesses who contact Crime Stoppers are able to collect a cash reward without every revealing their identities.
