Corina Layton, 47, of San Antonio, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012.

Ms. Layton was born May 16, 1965, to Isdor Herrera and Paulbina Padilla Ramirez. She was a Catholic by faith.

Survivors include her parents, Cristobal and Paulbina of Pettus; a son, Matthew Jacob Chavira of San Antonio; a sister, Catherine Vachon of Savannah, Ga.; three brothers, Dale Herrera of Austin, Joe Herrera and Chris Ramirez Jr., both of Pettus; and her mother-in-law, Juanita Chavira.

Visitation was held Friday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. at Eckols Funeral Home chapel in Kenedy.

The funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, there with Deacon Juan Vasquez officiating.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pettus.
