Bee County Crime Stoppers are offering rewards for information that could lead to the arrest of persons responsible for two recent crimes.

The first incident occurred on Tuesday, May 26, at about 9:59 p.m. A Beeville Police Department officer was sent to a car wash at 1000 N. Washington St. after a man there reported a theft.

The victim said someone had stolen his 10-foot aluminum ladder from one of the washing bays. The ladder is estimated in value at $90.

The second crime was reported on Sunday, May 31, at 10:10 p.m. in the 600 block of West Powell Street. A patrol officer met with the victim of a hit-and-run traffic accident who said his Green 2000 Ford Explorer was struck while parked on the street.

Witnesses at the scene said they saw a four-door white Dodge Dakota traveling slowly, eastbound, on the 600 block of West Powell. The vehicle then drifted to the right side of the road, struck the Ford Explorer and then left the scene.

Estimated damage to the Ford Explorer was more than $1,500.

Anyone who may have information that will lead to the arrest of the suspect involved in either of these crimes should call Crime Stoppers at 362-0206. Out-of-town residents may call toll free at 1-877-362-0206.
