GOLIAD – Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in identifying the person or persons responsible for burglarizing a number of Goliad storage units on Wright Street near U.S. Highway 59.

Sometime between Dec. 9 and Dec. 12, someone cut the padlocks on four of the storage units and took an assortment of personal property, including military gear and uniforms. Some of the missing military gear included a sleeping system with GoreTex lining, an extreme cold weather parka and trousers, a weapons cleaning kit, an individual field aid kit, Army uniforms and a green footlocker.

Other items taken included six large cooking roasters, GE or Oster brand, with owner-applied marking “TS” on the inside of the lid and bottom panels, as well as an assortment of Christmas decorations.

According to the investigating deputy’s report, the surveillance cameras at the storage facility were not functioning and no images of the suspect or suspects were captured.

Anyone with information about who may be responsible for these burglaries is asked to call Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers at 361-362-0206 or 1-877-362-0206.

All calls are anonymous and could lead to a cash reward of up to $1,000.
