The first set was competitive with the Lady Eagles pulling away late on a series of short runs. The final score was a 25-14 victory for the Lady Eagles.
The service game of the Pettus girls and their height advantage at the net provided a fairly easy win in set two. The Lady Eagles made it 2-0 with a 25-9 win.
The final set was a repeat of the first. The teams battled, but a few service return lapses put the Lady Redfish in a late hole, and the Lady Eagles prevailed 25-15 for the 3-0 sweep.
Madi Garza, Ryan Grayson, Sarah Hunter and Randi Arrisola all had four kills over the three sets for the Lady Eagles. Madi Garza helped set things up with six assists. Arrisola added seven assists in the victory. Madi Garza also served for three aces in the match.
“It was an outstanding team effort,” said Lady Eagle head coach Erica Garza.
The Pettus ladies were in Nordheim on Tuesday night and will be in Woodsboro on Friday night. The Lady Eagles close out their regular season next Tuesday when they travel to Yorktown to tangle with the Kittens.
