To better assist clientele in their management of crops, beef cattle and pastures, Texas AgriLife Extension Service in Refugio, Bee and Goliad counties have collaborated to sponsor a CEU Day.

The seminar will be Friday, Dec. 4, starting at 7:30 a.m with registration at the Julie Wimberly Memorial Homemaking Building at the Goliad County Fairgrounds, one-half mile south of Goliad on US 183/77A.

The program will feature specialists who will focus on laws and regulations for your Texas Department of Agriculture Private, Non-Commercial, and Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s Licenses.

Specialists include Philip Benavides, TDA inspector; Brush Control Efforts for the Attwater Prairie Chicken, Tim Reinke, NRCS; Beef Cattle Hot Button Issues, Dr. Joe Paschal, Extension livestock specialist; and Brush & Weed Control Protocols, Brian Cain, Estes Chemical.

A charge of $25 will be assessed for attending the conference. The full day instruction will be worth five hours of CEUs toward re-certification of a TDA pesticide license. Hours offered will include two in IPM, and two in Laws and Regs, and one in general.
