This letter is addressed to family members, friends and the community of George West who are helping us cope with a recent tragedy.
On Thursday, April 19, we lost our home and all its contents including all treasured belongings to a house fire. We were fortunate to escape injury and are grateful that our lives were spared.
We wish to express our gratitude and appreciation for all the gifts, donations and help we have received so far. This tragedy has been extremely hard to accept and the reality is starting to sink in, but with all the support we have received, I know it will all work out in the end. You never expect anything like this to happen to you and your loved ones, but unfortunately, it can and did. We still feel like it is all a dream.
My family and I will never be able to thank everyone enough for being so thoughtful and helpful.
From the bottom of our hearts we want to say we are so thankful for everything that everyone has done for us. You have given us hope and the strength to look forward to the future.
Hector, JoEnna, Kali and Kenzie Cortez
