Filing period opens for 2011 ESC-20 board election

In accordance with rules of the Commissioner of Education, board members of education service centers in Texas will be elected by school district boards of trustees.

The official filing period for two positions on the board of directors of Education Service Center, Region 20 opens on Feb. 1, and remains open until 5 p.m. on Feb. 20.

Eligibility requirements specify that a board member must be any adult who is at least 18 years of age, is a citizen of the United States of America, is a resident of the region being served by the center, is not engaged professionally in education and is not a member of a board of any educational agency or institution.
