The McClanahan House on East Corpus Christi Street started filling up just after opening at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, and soon was full to overflowing of guests attending the Bee County Historical Society’s first ever photography event, “Flashback – A Photography Event Benefiting the Beeville Historical Society.” The event featured the work of local and area photographers and was a huge success, according to featured photographer Cissy Beasley. In all, more than 60 residents toured the house, viewed works by local photographers, and made purchases. The event grossed nearly $1,100, with half the proceeds going to support the Historical Society’s work to maintain and improve the vintage 1867 McClanahan House, which was the first business structure in Bee County.
