FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: A group of volunteer community leaders have come together to form a foundation to support Falls City ISD schools. Falls City Education Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit charitable organization created for the benefit of the school district and will provide funding not allocated by tax dollars. In order to accept such funding, hundreds of school districts across Texas have created non-profit entities such as this so donors can take advantage of existing tax laws.

Our area is growing quickly and many in our community are blessed with additional income due to the oil boom. By planning ahead you can keep more of your money at home and make tax-deductible charitable gifts that will directly benefit our school and local community.

The sole purpose of the newly formed education foundation is to benefit the Falls City Independent School District by providing funds for educational programs and activities which are not funded by the normal operating budget. These funds will be used to facilitate student achievement and skill development, to recognize and encourage staff excellence and to expand community involvement from individuals, businesses and civic organizations. Funding priorities will also include funds for technology in our school and innovative teaching resources that will enrich the classroom experience and better prepare our students for the jobs of the future.

The mission of the Falls City Education Foundation is to generate and distribute resources to the Falls City Independent School District to enrich and expand programs needed to meet the district’s stated mission, promote excellence in education, inspire learning, and maximize innovative opportunities for all students in the Falls City School District.

The Falls City Education Foundation will achieve its mission by directing resources toward the following goals:

• Enhance and enrich educational opportunities for students.

• Support staff for innovative efforts and recognize staff for exemplary teaching.

• Involve the community in assuring a quality education for the leaders and workers of tomorrow.

“The Education Foundation Board of Directors is dedicated to our community and educational excellence and I am proud to serve with them to support and enhance our school system,” states Steve Dziuk, President of the Falls City Education Foundation and Falls City graduate of the class of 1985. “We are very excited that community members have organized to help attract private funds to benefit our schools,” he added.
