Mrs. Barrera was born March 28, 1919, in Rio Grande City to Francisco and Luciana Garcia.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include four sons, Rafael (Diana) Casanova of Houston, and Ysidro (Adelaida) Arismendez Jr., Jesus (Martha) Garcia and Noel (Diana) Barrera, all of Beeville; three daughters, Hortencia (Gavino) Rodriguez of San Antonio, Petra (Lupe) Ruiz of Shamrock and Ramona Kelone of Marksville, La.; 21 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held Monday, April 8, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Treviño Funeral Home chapel.
A memorial service was held that evening at 7 o’clock at Monte Del Olivar Christian Church with Rev. Isaac De Los Santos officiating.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, April 9, at 10 a.m. at the church with burial following at the Beeville Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Edward Arismendez, Gerald Arismendez, Ralph Arismendez, Ysidro Arismendez III, John Rodriguez and Noel Gabriel Barrera.
