The freshman contest got the evening underway at Veterans Memorial Stadium and the T-M boys blanked their Beeville counterparts 22-0. The Warriors scored in each of the first three quarters, and their defense was strong enough to shut down the Trojan offense. The Beeville offense did move the ball against the Warriors, but a couple of fumbles and a few penalties made it difficult to sustain drives, and the visitors took advantage of the Trojan miscues. The score at the half was 16-0 with the Warriors ahead.
The visitors added one third period score but failed to convert on the two-point try to keep the scoreboard at 22-0. The teams locked up in a defensive battle the rest of the way. Another fumble stalled the Trojans’ final drive. T-M took over and ran out the clock to make the final a 22-0 victory.
The JV contest was all T-M. The visitors romped to a 20-0 lead at the half and then continued to dominate the second half to earn a 42-6 victory. Beeville got its lone TD in the fourth period on a 74-yard drive. Robert Rodriguez and Steven Barrera got most of the yardage for the A.C. Jones boys. Rodriguez went eight yards to get the Trojans on the board and avoid a shutout.
JD Cuevas and Josh Salazar made some big stops for the Trojan defense, but the T-M offense was too fast to be stopped for long.
