GOLIAD – The Goliad County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 9-month-old boy who was transported to a Victoria hospital Friday morning with severe head injuries.

According to a GCSO news release, Paul McAdams was taken by his parents to DeTar Hospital shortly after 4 a.m. Hospital staff determined the child sustained blunt force trauma to his head and notified law authorities.

The child was transported by medical helicopter to University Hospital in San Antonio where he died Saturday night.

According to Sheriff Kirby Brumby, an autopsy confirmed the child died of blunt force injuries to the head, which resulted in multiple skull fractures.

“Further details are not being released at this time so as not to compromise the ongoing investigation,” Brumby said.
