GW JV ties Cole Cougars

In a hard fought showing, the George West Longhorn Junior Varsity football team gained a tie against the Cole Cougars. Both teams were solid and finished the game with a score of 22-22.

The Horns played solid offense with touchdowns from Hunter Pipken, Xavier Paiz and Cody Brown.

The Longhorn offensive line blocked well against Cole with strong blocking from Enrique Guerra, David Ybanez and Jacob Castro.

Defensively, the Horns looked solid with big hits from Matthew Ellette, Michael Cortinas, James Crabb and Sabie Guerrerro. The defense also had a couple of sacks by Matthew Ellette and Wyatt Wasicek.

The Defensive secondary also had good play from Tyler Mixion, Dylan Orr and Hunter Pipken.

With Thursday night’s tie, the Junior Varsity moves to 4-1-2 and are still undefeated in district play. The JV will be taking on the Goliad Tigers on Thursday, Oct. 25, at George West.
